Haldi Ram's shop is not very old (just 15-20 years old) certainly not famous for Jalebis. Famous Jalebi wala is outside the street named Dariba Kalan, this jalebi shop is there for more than 300 years. The oldest halwai in Chandni Chowk Ghante wala, the historic shop is just opposite Haldi Ram shop. It may not looks hep as Haldi Ram but fact is this shop use to supply sweets to Mughal Emperor. Story that goes is that when Shiva Ji was arrested by Aurangzeb in Delhi he requested Mughal Emperor that he wants to make offering of sweets to poor. It was arranged & Ghante wala halwai was one of those shop who supplied sweets.
Kanwar Ji these are two other Halwai shops outside Pranthe wali gali they also about 300 years. Kindly make correction about these.
