According to the man behind the big jazz show Soli J. Sorabjee, former Attorney-General of India, “The Utsav this year has an equally formidable global line-up with music presentations from the traditional players like the Chet Baker Tribute from Norway and Jake Fryer and the London Bebop Collective to the more contemporary ones like the Belgian vocalist Sascha Ley and the interesting Afro-Latin combine of Ba Banga Nyeck, a balafon player from Cote d’lvoire and Wanayran Angerer, a singer from Honduras. There are three Indian bands participating in the Utsav this year”.

The jazz festival is organized keeping in mind the objective of promoting Jazz music and musicians in the country. The final day’s performances at the three day festival is reserved for Indian artists and will be an all-Indian affair, the final day will feature performances from vocalist Ramamani and the Amit Heri Group, pianist Madhav Chari and his trio, and singer Sonia Saigal with her exciting band from Mumbai.
