Welcome Guest

Badhkal Lake

One of the best picnic spots to take your family to, which is also very close to Delhi, is the Badhkal lake in Faridabad district of Haryana.

Situated at a distance of around 30 km from Delhi, this man-made lake is set amidst the majestic Aravali Hills and is surrounded by beautiful gardens and overwhelming serenity. There are provisions for boating, camel and horse riding for the kids. And if all this makes you hungry head to the Haryana Tourism Resort that serves piping hot food and can also arrange for overnight accommodation.

The lake is also a good place to catch up on some migratory birds during the winters and, should you decide to venture too far, there are messages written on stones, warning you of the presence of snakes in the vicinity.

An ideal way to spend a lazy winter Sunday with one’s family.

Badhkal Route

Hi

In case you are familiar with Surajkund, the Badhkal lake is about 4-5km further ahead from where the Surajkund Mela is held on that same road.

Detailed instructions from South Ex:

-Take the Aurobindo Marg and drive towards the Qutab Minar

-From the Qutab Minar take a left turn onto the Mehrauli Badarpur Road

-After going straight for about 7-8km you'll reach the Tughlakabad Fort (you'll know you're there if you can see the fort on your left)

-From here take a right turn on the road going towards Karni Singh Shooting Range/Asola Sanctuary/Surajkund

-Drive straight for around 3-4 km to enter Faridabad and reach Surajkund

-Keep going straight for another 4-5 km and you'll see the sign for Badhkal on your right

In case you still manage to get lost do what we all do, ask the nearest rickshawwalla for directions (Badhkal's a popular place)

Have Fun!
