There’s the all time favourite kakori kebabs (finely minced mutton, cloves, and cinnamon, drizzled with saffron) that literally melt in the mouth, the dum ki khumb (button mushrooms in gravy, fennel, and dried ginger), and the special raan-e-dumpukht (a leg of mutton marinated in dark rum and stuffed with onions, cheese, and mint) that must be tried. Some other interesting items include Sangam galauti (a fusion of chicken and mutton, fired on simmering coal), the very Lucknowi Noormahal biryani with mutton koftas and Gandum ke pasinde (wheat dumplings). There are also some vegetarian dishes on offer like the Handi kebab which is made with raw papaya and cheese. Apart from the food the restaurant also has a very impressive wine list.
All in all everything about this restaurant spells class and while it is not exactly cheap, it is perhaps one of the best restaurants in the world to sample the dum pukht cuisine.
