The disabled people are a part of our large human family. Whenever we look at them, we shrug off our shoulders implying: what can we do about them? Other times, we consider them as objects of our pity implying yet again that these people are  inferior to us. This, unfortunately, is the worse attitude. Little do we think that the same misfortune can fall upon anyone of us any time.

Furious traffic, for example, on Gurgaon Expressway has already maimed and mutilated many persons.

Then, there are some genetic reasons that lead of intellectual disability. Even the rich and mighty can be victims of such problem.

Tammana, the daughter of Dr Shayma Chhona, Principal of the prestigious  DPS, RK Puram is one such victim. Incidentally, Dr Chonna has opened a school for the disabled after the name of her daughter. This is a commendable contribution to the cause of the disabled.

The son of Arun Shouri, the illustrious journalist, author, and erstwhile editor of the Indian Express is another case.

Muskan, an NGO, working for the welfare of the disabled people, organized a 2-km awareness walk in Gurgaon on the occasion of World Disability Day on Wednesday the 3rd December. More than 150 young adults participated. Several NCOs dedicated to the service of the disabled including Muskaan, Akshay Pratisthan, Tamanna Nai Disha and many others participated in the walk.
