I hope you have been to  DDA's Deer Park in Hauz Khas Village. It is a vast expanse of green vegetation, trees and shrubs. I wonder how many of you have cared to explore the beauty of Bagh-I-Alam ka Gumbad sitting in the heart of the park!

Bagh-I-Alam ka Gumbud was built during the reign of Sikander Lodhi in the year 1501. According to an inscription on a black marble slab  on a wall, the Gumbud was built by Sultan Abu Said.

The entrance to the Bagh-I-Alam ka Gumbud is located in its southern side. You are greeted with  a picturesque view of the Gumbud, the moment you enter the gate. You can spot the remains of the tiles of variegated colors.

As you move around the Gumbud premises, you can see the grave of a Muslim saint, Mian Shihabuddin Taj Khan. While there is a hall for namaz-prayer- in its western side, all other sides have arched gates.

Bagh-I-Alam ka Gumbud is one of south Delhi’s best-kept secrets that you must  explore as soon as you get time.
