Situated right next to the entrance of the popular Lodhi Gardens, the Garden restaurant is basically an extension of the park itself, done up very creatively and in great style. The restaurant has two seating options – covered or indoor and outdoor or in the garden. Needless to say it’s the latter option that one should opt for in order to make the most the beautiful surroundings.

As the name suggests the place is covered with trees and thick foliage with huge fans on the trees making it very pleasant during the summer evenings. There are several seating options available including a reclining sofa, a swing covered with curtains, a modified bullock-cart, again covered with curtains, which doubles up as a no-smoking area and the regular tables and chairs. In fact one must say that the lights, fabrics and music have been used very beautifully to provide a dreamy look to the restaurant.

Moving on to the food, the restaurant has an elaborate menu of Cocktails and Mocktails along with the usual drink options. The food menu is primarily Continental and hence involves a lot of bakes, grills, stews and barbecues with generous use of fresh herbs for flavoring. However special mention must be made of the restaurant’s Lamb preparations which are simply mindblowing. The service here is fast and the food is very good. For those with a sweet tooth the restaurant also has a fairly elaborate dessert menu with almost a dozen different types of cakes and soufflé and pastries.

The restaurant is slightly on the more expensive side with an average meal for two costing around Rs. 1500 but the ambience and the food definitely make this a place worth visiting at least once.
