Yes you heard it right – Japani Samosa is an innovative item comprising an oily samosa stuffed with a special potato mix and wrapped delicately like a dim sum, which is served with Pindi Chana and chutney. The shop selling this samosa is a small non-descript stall, in the Chandni Chowk area, with no seating and attended by just one man – and it has been like this since the past 40 years.

One is still not sure why the samosa is called ‘Japani’. Maybe it’s because of its dim sum like appearance, in which case it would be more appropriate to call it Chinese Samosa. Anyways, whatever be the reason, in case you are in the Chandni Chowk area you must try this samosa as you wouldn’t have tasted anything like this ever before. However, just keep in mind that the stock usually gets over by 3pm.
