In case your premises have fallen victim to the MCD’s sealing drive, you might want to head to Noida where the Noida Authority is in the process of announcing a scheme that will essentially create between 6000-7000 new office space in sectors 94 and 124 of Noida. Each of these offices would be of 100-200 sq metres.
According to officials, the shortly to-be-announced scheme would bear a low reserve price to attract business houses from Delhi, especially those who have been affected by the sealings.
A proposal has also been sent to the UP Government seeking an increase in the Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of commercial establishments from the current 1.5 to 2 which, if accepted, would give a huge fillip to the commercial space market in Noida. Currently only Sector 18 in Noida has been fully developed as commercial centre while two similar centres — City Centre (Sector 32) and Sector 25-A — are still being developed. This decision would open vistas for more commercial offices in sector 18 — often dubbed as the hub of Noida.
Several other projects, primarily involving infrastructure upgradation, are also up for discussion including the construction of a stadium, new flyovers and underpasses and multi-level parking.
All of this might make it worthwhile to consider the option of moving to Noida, especially in the current scenario of commercial space having become scarce in Delhi leading to astronomical prices for the same.
