New Delhi: One of the India’s most reputed and internationally recognized university that is Jawaharlal Nehru University or JNU will soon be signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Koreas’ Namseoul University. The MoU pertains to jointly working in the field of Computer Science, Social Sciences and International Relations.
Already JNU and Namseoul University had signed an Agreement of Cooperation. The MoU will be finalized in early November when a delegation led by JNU’s Vice Chancellor Mr. B.B. Bhattacharya will visit South Korea. According to one of the members of the delegation which will be going to South Korea - a broad outline has been finalized and once the MoU is signed, the finer details will be worked out.
So far JNU has signed about 86 memoranda of understanding with foreign universities, the latest signing was last week when JNU signed a MoU with University of Colima, Mexico. As per the MoU, Colima University will collaborate with the Centre of Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Latin American Studies and Centre for Canadian, US and Latin American Studies at JNU.
According to Anil Bhatti, Chief Advisor (International Collaboration), “The Mexican University will focus on cooperation in fields like Information Technology, Asia Pacific Studies, Biotechnology and Economics. They will soon facilitate interaction with academics from the concerned schools and centers to identify key areas”.
Last month, Jawaharlal Nehru University signed a MoU in the field of life sciences and cultural studies with Switzerland’s’ most famous university – the University of Lausanne.
