Karol Bagh

Delhi is simply heaven for shoppers. All the various arts, crafts and merchandise the entire country offers are all found in one city: Delhi. Every corner of this beautiful city has a market or a shopping centre. From Emporiums, specializing in goods from different states, to vendors and peddlers, the shopping centres of Delhi offer a rich variety of merchandise.

One of the most famous shopping centres one finds in Delhi is Karol Bagh. Once, a residential area, it is now a commercial hot spot. The shops here have had booming business and the market now has expanded to encompass all the numerous lanes that lead off. The market’s most famous shops are situated on Ajmal Khan Road. However, what this market is most famous for is the plethora of shops which sell everything from clothes to shoes to accessories. The shops range from roadside stalls to air conditioned designer stores. It also includes a large number of eating places. Some of the most famous eateries are the old-fashioned sweet shops including the Rosha da Kulfi (an Asian ice-cream) which is one of the oldest and the most famous kulfi shops in Delhi and the Punjab sweets, an equally famous store. Many of these shops also specialize in Punjabi food like Aloo Tikki and Chole Bhature. The icing on the cake is the fact that Karol Bagh is one of the most connected places in the city. Down Ajmal Khan Road, the newly running Delhi Metro takes you to nearly every location in the city. I is also very close to Paharganj and Connaught Place, one of the most popular shopping centre of the city.

People from different parts of India have made Karol Bagh their home.  There is a representative population of people from the east, west, south and North of India and one can hear a variety of languages being spoken here. The colors sights and sounds of Karol Bagh leaves one with an impression of rich variety!  A visit to Karol Bagh is a must for every visitor to Delhi!
