Welcome Guest
Movie-lovers in the capital are in for a good time with the ‘Little Europe 2007 – Comedy and Satire’ film festival getting underway in the city. As the name suggests, the ten-day long festival will get Delhiites acquainted with the life and society of Central and Eastern Europe.
There will be a film from each of the participating countries namely Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and Serbia, which will all be screened at the S. P. Jain Centre Auditorium of Delhi University's South Campus.
The films will make an attempt to show different aspects of life in a lighter tone, including films on subjects like a young-at-heart septuagenarian dreamer who refuses to reconcile himself with his age or a young widow, an ageing widower and a priest who are struggling to come to terms with the post-War environment.
One of the more interesting aspects of this festival is the critical evaluation of the movies by academic experts that will be held after every screening.
The festival has been organized by the Department of Slavonic and Finno-Ugrian Studies of the South Campus of Delhi University along with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in New Delhi.
The Venue: S. P. Jain Centre Auditorium, South Campus, Delhi University
The Dates: February 12th – 21st , 2007
