Neemara Fort Palace is situated just 122 kms away from Delhi on the majestic Delhi-Jaipur highway. It provides a unique insight into the heritage and royal life of Rajasthan.

Built in 1464 by Raja Rajdeo, the Neemrana Fort Palace is situated on a hill top. It is hidden in a horseshoe structure amid the age old Aravali range hill system of northern India, running northeast for 560 kms through Rajasthan state.

Neemrana Fort Palace provides a breathtaking view of the Aravali mountain range as well as of the town of Alwar from its hill top location. The fort is spread over 25 acres and has ten layers of construction. It is a beautiful and rare example of the traditional Rajasthani architecture.

Neemrana derives its name from one of the local chieftains, Nimola Meo, who was defeated by the Chauhans in a battle. Neemrana was built to honor the bravery shown by Nimola Meo. Also Neemrana was the 3 rd capital of the descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III, who was killed in battle by Mohammad Ghori in 1192 AD.

 Neemrana Fort Palace was in a pretty bad shape before being turned to a fort and palace resort. Its glory was meticulously restored and it was turned into a heritage hotel in 1986. It is probably one of the finest heritage properties in India.
