Located near the Chanakyapuri Diplomatic Enclave, Nehru Park happens to be one of Delhi’s more plush parks, both in terms of its upkeep and maintenance as well as the kind of people who frequent it. Named after India's first Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru, the park is spread over an area of more than 80 acres and looks especially beautiful during the spring season with flowers in full bloom. It also has picturesque little mounds and rocks inscribed with the sayings of Nehru.
The park is very popular for weekend picnics and morning/evening jogs. Fitness enthusiasts can be seen jogging or walking inside the park every morning and evening. There is also a swimming pool and a snack bar in the park.
One of the major attractions of the Park are the 'Morning Ragas'- musical concerts and art events organized every Sunday morning with performances by famous musicians and vocalists. Another attraction of the park is the free yoga classes organized by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corp (DTTDC) and the education department, as part of the Delhi Government's initiative to keep the residents of Delhi fit and happy.
