Not Complying to Ganguly Committee report for Prep/KG admission for the session 2007-2008 by Mira Nursery School/Mother'sIntln

I would like to put on record my serious dissatisfaction on the way the entire process of selection of children for Prep(KG) was conducted by - MIRA NURSERY SCHOOL & their not complying to the Ganguly committee report.

There are many aggrieved parents who have the same opinion & frustations.

I have the following observations & comments:-

1. During the time of registration Mira Nursery had followed the Ganguly committee methodology to arrive at the total points. There was no mention of any child & parent interaction. They had mentioned that the candidates whose name would figure in the short-list (that would come out on 31st January) would be granted admission subject to verifications of documents.

2. The short-list which came out on 31st January 2007 mentioned that the child is shortlisted for admission & we are suppose to bring the necessary documents for verification. Both the parents alongwith the child were requested to be present but there was no mention of any children & parents interview/interaction. But o n 7th February 2007, very surprisingly they decided to have the children & parents interview without prior communication. Most of the parents were taken aback as they were not aware/prepared that the interviews would happen. This is totally unfair & unjust .There was no communication on further elimination based on the performances in the interactions. Why did the school authorities not communicate this message well in advance? Was Mira Nursery trying to flout Ganguly committee recommendation & trying to adopt it’s own process. If that was the intent, why no prior information by the school authorities?

3. The first list which came out on 31st January 2007 had 33 candidates with total points scored as per Ganguly committee report. The final list that came out on 14th February 2007( based on the children & parent's interaction) had 12 candidates. Out of the 12 candidates, 11 candidates were from the first list & one candidate- Debapran Chatterjee( Registration:- reg/2007/2008/4903) was a wild card/backdoor entry. How could a school of such repute take a candidate whose name never figured in the first list.
Even if he is from Management quota, why did his name not figure in the first list? This was not expected from an institute like Mother’s International where people admit their wards so that they can learn the best possible values & virtues of life. I am given to understand Debpran Chatterjee’s father works in a very senior position with STAR NEWS.

4. The 11 candidates who have been selected had almost 6 children whose total score as per Ganguly committee methodology were one of the lowest. Many high scoring candidates were not selected This goes to prove that Ganguly committee methodology was not followed to select the final list & selection was done on other parameters( children, parents interaction may be one of them). This is totally unfair.

The necessary documentary evidences are available...

The school should have admitted all the 33 candidates selected in the first list otherwise the school is not doing justice. Either they should have selected candidates based on Ganguly committee or informed well in advance that both the child & the parents would be interviewed & based ontheir performances the final list would be prepared. Why were they silent? This goes on to prove that they are doing something illegal. Why did they take a candidate whose name never figured in the first list. They must have got a hefty donation then. This is hypocrisy at its peak.

Mira Nursery School not complying to Ganguli commitee

This school has not followed the Ganguly committe criteria last year for Nursery admission also.

As per the rule they should have accepted the forms from Parents who are residing in areas like R.K.Puram, Motibagh, Munirka which falls in 10 Km radius, however they did not do last year saying that since they do not issue forms in the areas where there is no Schhol Bus Service. However they are taking children from East of Kialash, C.R.Park, Kailash Colony etc.... Is this not ridiculous on their part to be very adamant in not following the court orders also?.

The age criteria of 3+ for Nursery admissions also was not followed.

Mr. Arup ray has done a very good job in bringing to our notice this KG admissions procedure in this school carried out last year.

However I would like to know what action has been taken against such schools and is this the thing they are teaching their children not to obey the high court rules and do whatever they feel like.

DPS, Faridabad not complying to Ganguly Commiittee

DPS, Faridabad has already conducted the admissions for Academic Session 2008-09. But they are doing what they want to. DPS, Faridabad is not giving points to siblings, but yes staff points are there for sure. They say we do not want to make it a sibling school but yes staff school ofcourse they have already made it. Even some underage children have been admitted. Some action should be taken against such schools and they should not be allowed to do whatever they feel like.

NOT True

20 Marks are given for sibling

i just got my child admitted to DPS faridabad . I have noticed that all parents who were invited for admissions were post graduate, from neighbourhood etc and points were alloted for all these even for siblings. Teachers etc. i am fully satisfied with the admission criterea
