Welcome Guest
The Chinese cuisine is among Delhi’s favourite foods. You will find a range of restaurants catering to the city’s insatiable appetite for soup, noodles and momos. From the crème de la crème restaurants to the stationary vans that serve noodles out of a window, there are innumerable options.
Taipan
Located in The Oberoi at Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, Taipan is famous for its Singaporean chef Thian’s awesome recipes. The restaurant is famous for its Chinese dim sums, which have a pretty loyal fan following in the national capital. While the regular chicken dim sums are available, you just have to try the crab, lobster and prawn dim sums. But don’t fill yourself up yet… these are only starters. In the main course, you could opt for the chicken tapering chili or the Peking duck, both of which have the crowds coming in for more. You could also try some of the restaurant’s delicious prawn or fish dishes. The food is fairly authentic and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. You could enjoy the view of the Delhi Golf Course, while you sip your Chinese tea.
Tea House of the August Moon
Competing with Taipan as Delhi’s finest Chinese restaurant is the Tea House of the August Moon at the Taj Palace Hotel on Sardar Patel Marg. The menu, supervised by the master chef from Hong Kong, is replete with choices. The ambience is beautiful, with a pond and bridge in the centre. The atmosphere is formal, but comfortable. You just can not miss the herbal teas, dim sums and chicken satte. You should also try their mouthwatering lobster dishes. The restaurant is frequented by the Chinese, Koreans and Japanese… a sign of how authentic the food is.
