For those interested in joining the security industry, Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI), the national body of private security agencies in India, having its office at New Delhi, is running various courses to prepare and train people for an exciting career in security and vigilance.
The courses being run by CAPSI provides a detailed insight into security and intelligence subjects along with an overview of leadership, team building and communication skills. The course also teaches the students the importance of various disciplines, which is vital in knowing how to work in various capacities in a security company.
All courses being run by CAPSI are designed to cover the core competencies identified by the industry, and to meet the statutory requirement of the State as well as the Central Governments. The teaching methods used at CPASI include the classroom-based teaching, supervised practical competency, field trips and practical placements.
If you are a graduate and a fresher, you can enroll for DSIM (Diploma in Security and Intelligence Management), which is a one year course, the course fee is Rs. 59,500. . The course will help you develop a broad range of practical and theoretical skill for the management of a dynamic and innovative business environment. The course has the potential to take you to senior managerial positions and give you a career in the Security and Intelligence industry.
The courses run by CPASI are not just limited to training manpower for the private security industry but also offer courses for entrepreneur wishing to start a new security company, you can join a crash course of one week and receive guidance about the process of getting license from the government and initial set-up process. The course fee is Rs. 20,000.
CAPSI is planning to introduce four more courses by September 2008. They are an MBA in Security and Intelligence of two-year duration, a three-month certificate course in security and intelligence management, Bachelor in security and intelligence management and a one-year post-graduate diploma in security and intelligence management.
