Chattarpur Temple, New Delhi, 19th September, 2009: KATYAYANI, India’s first television channel dedicated to Mother Goddess, was launched on the auspicious day of ‘Prathami’ i.e first day of Navratara by Delhi CM Smt. Sheila Dikshit in the presence of Mr J.K. Srivastava, MD of Veecon Group, the promoter of the Channel.
Katyayani Channel went on-air by beaming live telecast of Navratra Puja celebrations from the renowned Chattarpur Temple (Adya Katyayani Peeth) in the presence of thousands of ‘devi maa’ devotees. Katyayani is the name of sixth form of ‘Shakti’ or Divine Mother.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr J.K. Srivastava said, “Katyayani Channel is a direct result of the blessing of Mother Goddess and Baba Sant Nagpalji, the legendary founder of world renowned Chattarpur Temple, to fulfil the much cherished desire of mother devotees to have a dedicated channel for them.”
Smt. Dikshit expressed deep satisfaction at the launch of Katyayani. “Mother Goddess is universally worshipped and Indians across the age groups and regions are great devotees of Mother and people will benefit greatly from such a dedicated channel.”
