Welcome Guest
The world to day is passing through critical times. We daily watch the news on the television and read in the newspapers that some new disease, disaster or an international crisis is creating a deep sense of insecurity among the people around the world. People feel helpless and worried about their own lives and those of their loved ones. Nothing in the world appears stable and dependable. Every new scheme or a new plan to secure the world proves self defeating.
The situation all around is very disturbing. If we think deeply about the reason for such a dismal and fearful state of affairs, we will realize that the only reason why the individuals suffer from physical and emotional disturbances, or, for that matter, the nations experience social and intertnational strife is that they have cut themselves off from the source of divine power and blessing by their own thoughts and actions.
Some of us quite often believe that events take their course naturally and there is nothing we can do anything to change them. This is a wrong notion. It has been aptly said that more things can be done by prayer than a man can dream of. Prayer can bring about radical changes in our life and surroundings.
Even as individuals, what do we do when all the doors are shut against us and we feel utterly helpless? We pray.
Prayer like faith is believed to have the power to move the mountains. Prayer and faith are two allied and interdependent mental processes. You cannot pray unless you have faith and if you have faith, prayer automatically comes out. Let us have faith in God who is our root.
Prayer eradicates the negativity in our thoughts by connecting us with the divine source. If each one of us focuses his power of prayer, we can bring about greater harmony among ourselves, in our societies and among the troubled nations of the world.
Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, the founder of Yogoda Satsang Society has said:
“The Lord is the Mother of all mothers, the Father of all fathers, the One Friend behind all friends. If you always think of Him as the nearest of the near, you will witness many wonders in your life.”
