There are many ways that stars and celebrities now manage to stay in touch directly with their fans; blogs, Twitter, et el. Preity Zinta is also busy issuing clarifications about all the stories that are circulating about her love life (or lack thereof). If Preity has sometimes been described as the “Only Man in Bollywood” it probably has to do with the fact that she always comes across as straightforward, honest and courageous. Much is being made out of the fact that Zinta recently announced that no man wants to go out with her. Since her split with Ness Wadia, she has been linked to a number of men, willly-nilly, with scant regard for the facts that may be. So it would seem that her friends are now afraid to be seen in public with her, lest they be linked to her as well; socialite, director, friend, best friend ... And as she herself said on Twitter, why should being single be a crime? The media has no reason to think of her as easy or desperate! “No common man asks me for a date. They usually prefer autographs ;-)” Poor Preity! And for those interested, she announces succinctly, “I promise i will announce it right here on twitter when someone comes into my life.” Zinta is making news for the wrong reasons alas these days; we don’t exactly see any films of hers setting the box office on fire; but we do know that she was stuck in a toilet at the Delhi airport and that she was required to jump out earning her the sobriquet of Bollywood’s tomboy. The films may be rather thin on the ground at this time, but that doesn’t mean Preity is out of work: she and Indian cricket team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni have been signed up t o endorse the brand of edible oils by FMCG company Emami. She will join and elite list of celebs who have endorsed Emami products in the past; the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor, Govinda, Sourav Ganguly and south Indian actor Mahesh Babu. So the new cooking oil commercial will star Dhoni in a gladiator like get up to be seen in the unlikely company of Superwoman essayed by Zinta. So it would seem that we shall have Dhoni togged up in brown gladiator pants with matching boots and Preity wears a slim-fit silver body suit and a red cape. For what? An oil advert; right?
