Ring Road New Delhi

There are two Ring Roads in New Delhi. One is called the Inner Ring Road while the other is called Outer Ring Road. The combined length of the two roads is 87km.

Inner Ring Road

Delhi’s Inner Ring Road is about 40km in length and has very small number of crossings. On both the sides there are three lanes, which at presented are being expanded into four lanes on both sides. This road also has a few flyover links to the Outer Ring Road.

Recently Chief Minister of Delhi, Mrs. Sheila Dixit took the initiative of introducing robotic street sweeping systems. There are almost signals on the road. At present efforts are on to free AIIMS-Naraina stretch from signals.


Here is the list of flyovers present along the Inner Ring Road.

• Wazirabad Bridge
• Second Yamuna Bridge at ITO
• Pontoon Bridges over River Yamuna
• Hanuman Setu
• Visvesvaraya Setu at Okhla
• Moolchand flyover
• Oberoi flyover
• Cloverleaves at ITO flyover
• Flyover at Moti Bagh crossing
• Africa Avenue (Ring Road) crossing
• Punjabi Bagh
• Andrews Ganj
• Mayapuri,
• Dhaula Kuan
• Britannia Chowk
• Maa Anandmayee Marg
• M.B. Road (between ITO Chungi to Noida Mor)

Pedestrian Underpasses

To some extent Delhi’s Ring Road features grade separation of pedestrian and vehicular traffic and there are pedestrian underpasses at the following points:

• Keshavpuram near Wazirpur Depot
• IP Estate near ITO
• Nauroji Nagar
• Near Hyatt Regency Hotel
• Africa Avenue near Bhikaji Cama Place
• Naraina

Apart from these points, the following pedestrian underpasses are under construction:
• South Extension Market
• AIIMS Hospital Gate
• SJ Hospital Emergency Gate
• Near ASRD College
• Western Side of Dhaula Kuan
• Punjabi Bagh

The following points are to start construction of pedestrian underpasses shortly:
• Srinivas Puri (DTTDC)
• Lajpat Nagar (DTTDC)
• Lal Sai Mandir (DTTDC)
• Basai Dara Pur
• Nigam Bodh Ghat

i have NOT received the precise answer..i know the inner ring road's name is called mahatama gandhi road but what is the name of outer-ring road?
