Rush for JNU admissions

JNU is one of the premiere educational institutions of country. Its School of Social Sciences has been a dream destination for students since its inception. Sangeeta Ghosh, who had come to submit her application, said, "To be a part of the School of Social Sciences (SSS) has always been a dream. My father and my elder sister passed out from here and I want to keep up the family tradition."
The School of Social Sciences is popular among students for its vibrant atmosphere.
Pooja Kumar, another aspirant filling the form for entry into the same school, said, "I love the vibrant nature of the university. All the canteens and the campus life make it even more attractive. I want to do my Masters and also my PhD from here."
Besides the SSS, the JNU also offers numerous other excellent educational programs. Some of these are:
M.Phil./PH.D programs are offered by the following centers, which have their curricula and research work, organized on interdisciplinary basis with a focus on some areas of study.
Centers: Economic Studies and Planning; Historical Studios; Political Studies; Regional Development (Geography, Economics and Population Studies); Social Systems (Sociology); Educational Studies (Psychology, Sociology, Economics and History of Education); Social Medicine and Community Health; Philosophy and Studies in Science Policy.
Eligibility: Master's degree in the subject concerned with at least 50% marks; or Master's degree in allied subjects or Humanities with at least 55% marks; or Master’s degree in Natural Sciences with at least 60% marks.
For Centre for Studies in Science Policy, a Master's degree in Social Science or Humanities or Law or Management with 55% marks or Master's degree in Natural Sciences or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine with 60% marks is required.
For Centre of Social Medicine & Community Health, a Master's degree in Sociology, Psychology and Anthropology, Economics, Political Science, History/Social Work, Geography, Population Studies, Public Administration, Nutrition and other relevant Applied Science and Social Science subjects with 50% marks.
M.Phil./Ph.D. (Master of Public health)
Eligibility: MBBS degree with at least 50% marks and at least one year's work experience after internship; or M.Sc. degree in Nursing with at least 50% marks and at least one year's experience in Community Health Nursing.
M.A. in Economics, Geography, History, Political Science and Sociology Eligibility: (a) For M.A. in History, Political Science, Geography and Sociology
Bachelor's degree in any discipline: (10+2+3 pattern) with at least 45% marks.
(b) For M.A. in Economics: Bachelor's degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks, and Mathematics either at 10+2 level or at Bachelor's level, either as subsidiary or as honors.
