For those of you who are interested in watching some good foreign movies, Delhi hosts several film festivals. Currently, the Spanish Film Festival has movie lovers in Delhi excited. This is the third Spanish film festival being held in the city and some of the best movies from Spain are being screened.
The Spanish film festival started on March 6, with the screening of La Noche De Los Girasoles (The Night of the Sunflowers). This 2006 film is directed by Jorge Sánchez-Cabezudo, who has won several awards for his work. The actors in the film have also been acknowledged by amateurs and critics alike for their performances. The Spanish film festival is to run through March 10. All the films from March 6 to March 10 would be screened at the Indian Habitat Centre.
The film festival will conclude on March 10, with the screening of Fados at the Siri Fort Auditorium. Before the screening, you could watch an interview of the renowned director of the film, Carlos Saura, with distinguished film critic Aruna Vasudev. Carlos Saura has made a mark not only as a director, but also as a producer and an actor. He has won more than 40 awards across the globe for excellence in directing films. Fados was released last year and is a musical. The film is about the popular musical form called Fado and has performances by famous artists from Portugal. If you like to see movies with superb dances and music, Fados is what you should be watching.
