The Stellar Gymkhana club

Spend a hot summer’s day relaxing in a pool. Then grab a bite at a multi-cuisine restaurant. And follow this up with a game of snooker. If this is your idea of fun, the best thing for you to do is to get a club membership. Delhi has become hot on clubs only over the past decade, but there are some new ones that are carving a niche for themselves. If you are staying in or close to Noida, you may fancy driving down to the Stellar Gymkhana club located in Greater Noida.

The Stellar Gymkhana is an exclusive club and membership is by invitation only. The club favors young professionals and persons in senior positions in the corporate world as members. Built across 12 acres, the club is located on the Greater Noida Expressway (or Taj Expressway). It is about 20 minutes of smooth, hassle free driving on the expressway before you reach the club. (Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida. Ph: 91-120-2320390).

Although Stellar Gymkhana has a large swimming pool, it is found fairly crowded on weekends. A separate baby pool allows small kids to splash around without disturbing the more serious swimmers. The club provides other facilities like a reasonably well equipped gym, a library and a room with a billiards and a snooker table. There is a large man-made lake and boating seems to be very popular with the kids.

The bar is cozy and quiet and has a wide selection of drinks. The multi-cuisine restaurant also boasts of offering a wide variety. However, you would do well to opt for the Indian / Mughlai food here, rather than venture into the continental selection. Stellar Gymkhana has rooms that one can book for staying overnight. The rooms are air-conditioned and a good option if you are in no mood for a long drive back to Delhi.

The club has bigger plans and promises to offer tennis and squash courts to its members soon.
